ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Jessica - a wife, mother, homemaker, and photographer. When life gets hectic, it is the little things that recenter and remind me of what is important.

From a young age, I realized I saw the world in a different way from other people. I was diagnosed with a speech impediment and learning disability, which explained a lot! I started taking any camera I could find and taking pictures of everything. Those early blurs and smudges were my way of trying to communicate my world. It became my coping mechanism.

As the years went by, my dad took particular notice. He gave me my first digital camera in 2004. That literally became my expression of the world the way I saw it.

My grandmother, Marie Louise Oberacker, knew the power of the little things. She would frequently say “consider the Source” when things got tough. It was a reminder that God created everything in all of its complexities - no matter how small. I always found peace and reassurance in that small statement. She is the inspiration behind Emelo (MLO).
